Antimicrobial peptide induced colloidal transformations in bacteria-mimetic vesicles: Combining in silico tools and experimental methods

چکیده

With the growing challenges of bacteria becoming resistant to conventional antibiotics, antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) may offer a potential alternative. One most studied AMPs, human cathelicidin derived AMP LL-37 is notable for its activity even though mechanism action not fully understood yet. This work investigates interaction with 1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-rac-(1-glycerol) (POPG) vesicles, which were employed as bacterial membrane model given common presence this phospholipid in membrane. Experimental techniques including small angle X-ray scattering, transmission electron microscopy and dynamic light scattering used characterize interactions among POPG. Molecular dynamics simulations complement experimental studies molecular-level insights into process. was discovered actively critically interact POPG modifying curvature that eventually leads structural transformations from vesicles mixed micelles. The results shed on mechanisms underlying mimetic can guide further development based materials therapies.

hydrochlorothiazide detection in urine samples by hplc-dad and experimental design dispersive l-l microextraction

hydrochlorothiazide (hct) is a diuretic agent which is shown to be effective in the treatment of hypertension. literature reports have demonstrated that urinary excretion data may be used to assess the bioavailability of various formulations containing this thiazide. also hct consumption by the athletes is one of the drugs which should be regulated by world anti-doping agency (wada), because of...

Molecular design, structures, and activity of antimicrobial peptide-mimetic polymers.

There is an urgent need for new antibiotics which are effective against drug-resistant bacteria without contributing to resistance development. We have designed and developed antimicrobial copolymers with cationic amphiphilic structures based on the mimicry of naturally occurring antimicrobial peptides. These copolymers exhibit potent antimicrobial activity against a broad spectrum of bacteria ...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
